玄人志向のRD92SE-LA128Cが税込4990円で売っていたので交換する． XFree86を使うためにXFree86 -configureしてみたら，ビデオチップ(Radeon 9200SE)を検出できない． 全くhardware accelerationを使用できないVESAドライバを使うのはさすがに悲しいと思っていたら，"ATI Radeon 9200 HowTo"(Desktop-Linux.Net)に，

Driver "radeon"
ChipId 0x514D

The ChipId entry is only needed if you have a 9200 card and it tells the radeon driver that the card is an ATI Radeon 9100 which is supported by the radeon driver and is what the 9200 card is base upon.

という記述があったので，やってみたらうまく動作した¹． 無駄な買いものにならなくて良かった…
