『肺がん死なぜ減らない？喫煙率下がってるけど』(読売新聞)，ちなみに、がんで亡くなる人が増えている最大の要因は、実は寿命が延びたことだ。高齢化の影響を排除した「年齢調整死亡率」でみた場合には、男性の肺がん死亡率は９０年代後半から下がり始めている。

『ストロー・じか？…給食紙パック牛乳飲み方論争』(読売新聞)，ストローを使わない飲み方には賛否が分かれている。鳥取環境大環境マネジメント学科の田中勝教授（廃棄物工学）は「そこまでやらなくてもと思う。ストローぐらいではごみ減量効果もさほどない」としている。 一方、「ごみ削減よりマナーを優先するのは正しいと思えない」との意見もある。そのうち「箸やスプーン，フォークを洗うためには洗剤・水が必要なので環境に悪い」ということで，手掴みで食事をすることになりそうだ．まあ，マナーを言うのならストローではなくきちんとコップに移してから飲むべきだと思うけど…
